Anthony McElligott: Collegiate Academies Teacher Feature

What is the Collegiate Academies Teacher Feature?

The “Teacher Feature” recognition is a short, funny, and moving video to celebrate one teacher across CA. We choose a teacher who exemplifies the values of Growth and Excellence and reveal who is recognized on our network-wide Data Days, when all of CA gathers to look at student data and plan for all students to meet their goals.

Anthony McElligott, Sci Academy’s Chemistry teacher, is the second Teacher Feature of the 2014-2015 school year. He is also the first teacher in our history to be recognized as a featured teacher twice! Anthony is always finding new ways to push and challenge his students, and his unique classroom projects make incredibly rigorous material engaging for all students, all the time. Anthony is in his fourth year teaching at Sci Academy; even though he has significant experience teaching his course, he still finds ways to take his class to the next level each year, and his students and teammates benefit from his commitment to the value of Growth.

Watch Anthony’s Teacher Feature to see more about how his scholars and teammates feel about his class, and to learn how you can replicate his rigorous projects and lesson planning in your own classroom.

Congratulations, Anthony! We are so proud of all you have accomplished and look forward to learning more from your commitment to Excellence and Growth.
